Yanlou Story House was founded on the basis of the collection of Professor Li Chien-Lang. The collection centres on three main areas: architecture, photography, and guitar music. The mission of the Story House is to interpret the cultural value of architectural heritage, promote the beauty of guitar music, and share the fascination and enjoyment of antique cameras.
The collection currently comprises approximately 10,000 items. Architectural holdings include craftsmen’s manuscripts, traditional carpentry tools (such as ink markers, rulers, planes and saws), historical photographs, and rare books. It also includes Li Chien-Lang’s fieldwork slides, sketchbooks, hand-drawn architectural perspective drawings, and published works.
The photography collection features antique cameras, while the music collection includes electric guitars, amplifiers, vinyl records, CDs and related books.
The Story House is currently conducting an ongoing inventory and developing interpretative materials for the collection. As the museum is not yet regularly open to the public, it presently operates primarily through its website while collaborating with cultural and museum institutions around the world on exhibitions and educational initiatives. Through these partnerships, the Story House aims to create new possibilities for the preservation of architectural heritage and the promotion of arts education.
